The parents of a young man swarmed and killed on Edmonton's Whyte Avenue one year ago are hoping a Crimestoppers re-enactment will lead to tips in the case and an arrest.
Dylan McGillis, 20, and a friend were celebrating news he was going to become a father last November. Police said they were walking to their car when they exchanged a few words with another group.

Up to 15 people surrounded the two, swarming and beating them. McGillis was stabbed and left for dead. No arrests have been made.
Crimestoppers taped a re-enactment of the attack Friday on Whyte Avenue, as McGillis' family arrived from Saskatchewan to put up new posters on the popular street seeking information on the case.
The posters now include a photo of McGillis' daughter, who was born after his death.
"They took the life of a young man, a son, father, friend. So hopefully over the course of this last year, somebody, their conscience has been working and eating away at them and maybe somebody will come forward after seeing this re-enactment," said McGillis' father, Grant.
The McGillis family held a vigil on Sunday afternoon along with other Edmonton families who've lost loved ones to violent crime.
