The RCMP in Strathcona County near Edmonton are investigating the discovery Sunday afternoon of a body in the North Saskatchewan River.
A group of people out for a boat ride northeast of the city found the body of an adult woman and brought it to shore.
Police say the woman was between 25 and 40 years old and was wearing a T-shirt and underwear, but her identity is not known at this time.
The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy later this week.
