Alberta's labour leaders are asking for more representation on the boards of pension plans run by the Alberta government.
They met with the Deputy Finance Minister Peter Kruselnicki on Tuesday afternoon.
The leader of the Alberta Federation of Labour, Les Steel, says he told finance officials that he's concerned the stockmarket slide has left the funds with shortfalls. However Steel says unions don't have enough input on the funds to know exactly how much has been lost.
Steel says Kruselnicki did not give the unions any more information at the meeting. The deputy minister was not available to comment.
