Southeast LRT expansion may be delayed
City is short $515 million
The proposed southeast expansion of Edmonton's LRT line is short about $515 million and may have to be delayed, the city says.
Councillors met Wednesday to discuss how to make up the shortfall
The provincial and federal governments have been asked to help but have so far made no commitments.
The city has committed $800 million to the $1.8 billion cost of the project.
The original completion date for the expansion was supposed to be 2019, but that may now be delayed by one or two years.
