Shooting during break-in leaves man in critical condition

A 31-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a shooting at a northeast Edmonton home Monday afternoon.

A 31-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a shooting at a northeast Edmonton home Monday afternoon.

Police went to the home near 133rd Avenue and 25th Street at 2 p.m. after somebody reported a man had been shot during a  break-in.

Although several people were taken into custody, nobody had been charged. (Trevor Wilson/CBC)

The suspect or suspects left the scene in a vehicle, which was later recovered at 136th Avenue and 85th Street, after a city-wide police broadcast.

Several people were taken into custody for questioning, but no one had been charged as of 6 p.m.
