The B.C. Coroners’ Service has confirmed a woman from Edmonton died last Thursday while hiking in Waterton Lakes National Park.
Sarah Louise Larmarche, 23, was working at the park this summer.
She was hiking with a friend when she fell down a 150-metre cliff around 11:45 a.m. after crossing the Alberta/B.C. border.
Lamarche died at the scene. The Waterton search and rescue team was able to recover her body.
RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service continue to investigate.
An earlier version of this story said Lamarche fell 15 metres to her death when, in fact, the distance was 150 metres. It has been corrected.Aug 13, 2014 7:53 AM MT
