Work will continue throughout the winter to demolish the old downtown post office 2:20

Demolition of the old downtown Edmonton post office is underway to make room for the new Royal Alberta Museum.

Our Edmonton airs on CBC Television

  • Saturday at 6 a.m.
  • Sunday and Monday at 11 a.m.

The museum is scheduled to move from its present home in Glenora to the site at 103A Avenue and 97th Street when construction wraps up in 2017.

Even though Edmonton has already had its first snow of the season, work will continue through the winter to meet that deadline.

Adrienne Lamb, the host of Our Edmonton, got a progress report from Tom Thurston, the museum’s director of capital development.
