Officer found $89,400 worth of cocaine and marijuana in car
A 17-year-old male has been hit with multiple charges after a routine traffic check turned into a major drug bust on Tuesday.
According to a release, a member of the specialized traffic apprehension team spotted what appeared to be a driver texting and driving erratically near Bellamy Hill and 103rd Street around 8 p.m.
After pulling over the vehicle, the officer smelled marijuana so completed a search of the vehicle, revealing 1,095 grams of cocaine and approximately eight grams of marijuana.
Together, the drugs were worth an estimated $89,400.
The driver has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession, two breaches and one count of possessing a government document.
He was also issued a $172 ticket for distracted driving.
