RCMP say the remains, found near Brule, about 315 kilometres west of Edmonton, are historical in nature.

They were discovered by people riding all-terrain vehicles on Apr. 23.

Experts will now work with police to figure out the man's age, identity and manner of death.

RCMP also plan to consult with the Alberta Missing Persons and Unidentified Human Remains Project.
