RCMP said Sunday a father and daughter from Bruderheim, Alberta who last made contact with family two weeks ago have been found safe.

The father, 33-year-old Ryan Collins, contacted police himself after seeing media reports of his disappearance.

"The RCMP went out, verified that yes, they were there, it was him, that everything was ok, then everybody went on their way," Cst. Sean Morris said. "We just needed to make sure theyt were indeed safe."

Ryan Collins, 33, and his daughter Alexis, 4, were reported missing to Fort Saskatchewan RCMP on March 15. They last spoke to family on March 3.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP thanked the public Sunday for their assistance in helping find them.
