RCMP investigating woman's death west of Edmonton
RCMP are investigating the suspicious death of a mother of two young children at a rural home west of Edmonton.
Police are not saying how the woman, who lived with her husband and two school-aged children, died.
Police responded to a 911 call from the home on Range Road 264, just north of Highway 16, at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, said Const. Barb Roy.
The woman was dead when police arrived, she said.
The woman's family is cooperating with investigators, said RCMP who had no suspects in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
"We are speaking to neighbours, co-workers, the people that were in the residence at the time, everybody we can to determine what happened," Roy said.
The upscale and isolated home near the Edmonton Springs Golf Resort was not known to police, said Roy.
The investigation is still in the early stages and police couldn't say if people living in the area should be concerned, she said.
"We're doing everything we can to make sure that nobody else is going to be harmed."
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
