RCMP investigating threatening graffiti at St. Albert high school
'We react very quickly because it could be a potentially serious event,' RCMP say
RCMP are investigating after graffiti they say is threatening towards a staff member was found in the bathroom of Paul Kane High School in St. Albert last week.
The graffiti was found on Feb. 17. Police were notified about it on Feb. 19, and immediately launched an investigation because of its threatening nature.
The investigation continues, and police are trying to determine who is responsible for the graffiti and if there's any validity to the threat.
Because the threat referenced Monday, Feb. 22, police officers will be at the school that day, Cpl. Laurel Scott said. More information is also expected Monday.
"At this point we're not providing details of the measures we're undertaking, because that might inhibit our investigative measures," Scott said.
"This is not very common. These things do not happen very often, and certainly not a common event in St. Albert. Regardless, we still take every case seriously ... and we react very quickly because it could be a potentially serious event."
