Police warn of released sex offender
Edmonton police have issued a public warning about the release from prison of a man they call "a violent sexual offender who poses a risk of significant harm to the community, particularly to young females under the age of 16."
Andrew Carrigan, 39, is in Edmonton after completing a sentence for a number of offences including possession of child pornography and sexual interference.
"The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest," a release said.
Carrigan has blue eyes and brown hair, and is five feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds.
