Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman who attempted to help a man who was shot and killed near the new downtown arena.
Autopsy results confirm, 41-year-old Douglas Sinner of Edmonton was murdered near the Rogers Place construction site, early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the intersection of 101 Street and 104 Avenue at around 12:30 a.m.
When they arrived, Sinner was already being rushed to hospital after an altercation on the street. Police believe the incident may have stemmed from a brief verbal exchange between Sinner and one or more suspects.
Now, investigators are trying to identify a woman who assisted Baccarat Casino Security personnel in administering first aid to Sinner.
"It's believed this individual may have information that could assist homicide detectives with their investigation."
Anyone who may have heard or seen anything in the area of 104 Avenue and 101 Street at around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
