On Sunday, flowers and a note were attached to a fence outside the apartment building.

The note, which is signed “Mom,” reads "Michael you are in my heart forever."

Police say they are still in the early stages of their investigation, and are interviewing witnesses who were in the building at the time of the shooting.

They are also asking anyone with more information on the death to come forward.

“If anybody was in the apartment building or possibly in traffic or anything like that ... If anyone saw someone run from the building or a car speed off...anything like that if they could please contact the police,” said police spokesman Chad Orydzuk.

An autopsy has been schedule for early this week. The name of the victim has not been released.
