Police looking for suspects after shooting death
EPS still in early stages of investigation
Edmonton police are investigating after a fatal shooting in Edmonton’s west end late Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called out to an apartment building near 89th Avenue and 149th Street just after 4 p.m.
When they arrived, they found the man dead in a third-floor suite. EMS paramedics were not able to resuscitate him.
Police seek public’s help
On Sunday, flowers and a note were attached to a fence outside the apartment building.
The note, which is signed “Mom,” reads "Michael you are in my heart forever."
Police say they are still in the early stages of their investigation, and are interviewing witnesses who were in the building at the time of the shooting.
They are also asking anyone with more information on the death to come forward.
“If anybody was in the apartment building or possibly in traffic or anything like that ... If anyone saw someone run from the building or a car speed off...anything like that if they could please contact the police,” said police spokesman Chad Orydzuk.
An autopsy has been schedule for early this week. The name of the victim has not been released.
