Police lay charges after man stabbed near Hope Mission Friday
A 42-year-old man who died Friday is Edmonton's 16th homicide victim of the year
Edmonton police have charged a 36-year-old man with second degree murder and possession of a weapon after a man was stabbed near the Hope Mission on Friday.
Police said a group of people were sitting on the curb on 98th Street at 105th Avenue near the Hope Mission when a fight broke out around 10:35 p.m.
A 42-year-old man was stabbed and taken to hospital, where he was eventually pronounced dead.
Police have confirmed the 42-year-old's death was the city's 16th homicide of the year.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
