Edmonton police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that happened in the west end on Saturday as 38-year-old Michael Alan Hill.
The incident marks Edmonton’s 10th homicide of the year.
Officers were called to an apartment building near 89th Avenue and 149th Street just after 4 p.m. Saturday.
Police discovered Hill dead in a third-floor suite. EMS paramedics were not able to resuscitate him.
The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound.
On Sunday, flowers and a note were attached to a fence outside the apartment building.
The note, which is signed “Mom,”, reads “Michael you are in my heart forever.”
The EPS Homicide Section is continuing their investigation. No charges have yet been laid.
