Police are calling the death of a 24-year-old Edmonton man suspicious after his body was found floating in the Okanagan River near Penticton, B.C.
Andrew Scott Gangl was last seen walking near Okanagan Falls Elementary School in Okanagan Falls, B.C., shortly after 7 p.m. PT on Thursday, April 24.
His body was found mid-channel near OK Falls the next morning at around 9 a.m.
Police are calling his death suspicious, and are asking anyone who knows about Gangl’s activities leading up to his death to report the information to investigators.
Gangl was last seen wearing a black Chicago Blackhawks baseball hat, dark jacket, blue Adidas runners and a black backpack.
Investigators are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area of the Okanagan River — including the Skaha Dam, Okanagan Falls Provincial Campground and nearby walking paths — that Thursday night and Friday morning.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to determine the cause of death.
