One man died and another was critically injured in two separate incidents in Edmonton on Monday afternoon.
In the first incident, police were called to a ground level apartment at 107th Avenue and 110th Street around 1:30 p.m.
There they found the body of a man in his early 20s. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
Although the homicide unit was called to the scene, it isn’t known whether the death is criminal.
“Police believe that there were several individuals that may have been in that suite over the last 24 hours — so yesterday and today — and we would like to speak with them,” said Edmonton Police spokesman Scott Pattison.
In the second incident, police were called to 105th Street and 83rd Avenue around 4:30 p.m. following reports of gunshots in the area.
They found a 20-year-old man in a second-floor apartment with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.
As with the first incident, police haven't determined whether the shooting is criminal.
Pattison says it appears that the two incidents are unrelated.
