The Oil Kings arrived at Edmonton International Airport as WHL champions after winning Game 7 against Winterhawks in Portland Monday night.

Mitch Moroz, Curtis Lazar, Reid Petryk and Mads Eller scored each scored a goal in the second period to win 4-2.

The team could have wrapped up the series on Sunday but lost 6-5 in overtime, even though they led by three goals going into the third period.

But all that was forgotten Tuesday as Captain Griffin Reinhart led the team into the airport arrivals area while carrying the Ed Chynoweth Cup.

The Oil Kings now head to London, Ont. for the Memorial Cup which starts Friday.
