Edmontonians can join the Oil Kings for a celebration of their Memorial Cup win at Churchill Square on Wednesday.

The team will take part in a parade that will run from 99th Street at 103A Avenue, south to 102 Avenue, starting at 11:45 a.m.

They will then move on to a stage at Churchill Square where they will be met by Mayor Don Iveson and Premier Dave Hancock.

Head coach Derek Laxdal will likely be a part of that celebration.

On Tuesday, he spoke to Edmonton AM host Mark Connolly about what it was like to guide the team to its first Memorial Cup since 1966.

If you can’t make it down to Churchill Square on Wednesday, CBC will be livestreaming the Oil Kings celebration at cbc.ca/Edmonton.
