Ground was broken Tuesday on the new downtown Edmonton campus of NorQuest College.

The new building at 108 Street and 102 Avenue will allow the college to consolidate programs that are currently spread across six campuses.

The existing South Learning Centre will be upgraded and connected with the new structure.

“What’s great is it’s really going to bring students together, “ said Jodi Abbott, NorQuest’s president and CEO, on Tuesday's Edmonton AM. “I think it’s going to create a wonderful, wonderful learning environment.”

The new building will have 27 labs and 25 new classrooms.  It should be open by 2017, Abbott said.
