Millet RV dealer sentenced to 7 years for fraud
Millett RV dealer Arnold Donszelmann was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison for defrauding dozens of victims.
Donszelmann, 54, showed no emotion as the judge sentenced him before an Edmonton courtroom packed with his victims.
A jury had previously found Donszelmann guilty of 31 counts of fraud involving an RV leasing scheme. In many cases, the RVs did not exist.
Many of his victims told the court they lost thousands of dollars in the scheme.
Donszelmann must pay them more than $2.3 million in restitution.
Stan Pledge and his wife Beryle lost $110,000 in the scheme. Despite his heart condition, Pledge, 67, is working as a truck driver to pay the bills.
Pledge doesn't think he will ever see any of the restitution money.
“If I get anything, twenty bucks, I’ll smile,” Pledge said.
