Meadowlark school reopens after fire
Students returned to Meadowlark Christian School this morning one week after a fire.
"The kids are excited to be back," said principal Darren Sweeney.
"School is an important place for children and when they're displaced it's an emotional thing," he said. "It was for our staff too."
A fire last Wednesday morning caused $100,000 in damage to the school at 98th Avenue and 158th Street.
Classes were moved to nearby schools after the fire damaged a science room and the gymnasium storage area.
