A man who was severely beaten outside his home in the McCauley neighbourhood will be taken off life support.

Robert Felker, 46, was the first of three victims in a bizarre series of attacks in the early hours of July 20.

Felker’s fiancee said the family is absolutely devastated as he isn’t expected to survive. The couple planned to marry in  September.

Felker was beaten around 2:45 a.m. after he went to investigate a commotion outside his house near 95th Street and 110A Avenue.

Police say the suspects attacked two more people in their homes that morning. The third victim was able to fight back with a machete that he happened to have in his bedroom.

Felker was taken to hospital with severe head injuries. HIs family decided to take him off life-support after he failed to respond to treatment over the past ten days.

Three men were arrested and charged in connection with the attacks. They could face murder charges if Felker dies.
