Edmonton police have charged a 30-year-old man with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking after seizing $430,000 worth of marijuana.

The Spruce Grove resident was arrested Thursday afternoon after police found 150 pounds of marijuana from a pickup truck and a west Edmonton warehouse.

The pickup was stopped near 170th Street and 98th Avenue. Police found 38.5 pounds of marijuana in the box. The remaining drugs were seized at the warehouse.

A 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 truck was also seized in the investigation.

"This arrest was the culmination of solid investigative work and was significant due to the fact nearly 150 pounds of marijuana was taken off city streets," Staff Sgt. Darren Derko said in a statement.
