Man struck and killed on Highway 2 near Leduc

The man was walking on the highway when he was struck by a southbound semi tractor-trailer around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 2 near Leduc on Monday afternoon.

RCMP said that the man was walking on the highway when he was struck by a southbound semi tractor-trailer around 3:30 p.m.

Emergency officials found the man lying on the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 2 near Airport Road was closed for police to conduct their investigation.
