A 28-year-old Tofield man sustained serious injuries in a two-car collision east of Edmonton Thursday evening.
RCMP say that a Chevrolet Cavalier slammed into the back of a Dodge pickup truck around 6:45 p.m. The truck had slowed-down due to construction on Highway 16 between Cloverbar Road and Highway 21.
The male driver and sole occupant of the Cavalier was taken to hospital in Edmonton by STARS Air Ambulance. The two people in the truck — a 45-year-old male driver and his daughter — were not hurt.
RCMP are asking drivers to take care in that section of Highway 16, which is reduced to one lane due to construction.
They say there have been a number of other collisions in the area.
