A 29-year-old man is dead and two females are in hospital following an accident near Elk Point, about 225 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
RCMP say the SUV rolled into the ditch off Highway 646 shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday.
The driver had been thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital in St. Paul, but died on the way.
Two others in the SUV were taken to hospital but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police believe that alcohol, speed, visibility and road conditions were all factors in the accident.
