A 74-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 831 south of Boyle, Alta. on Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the collision involving a pickup truck and transport truck near Township Road 612 approximately 30 kilometres south of Boyle, at 9:45 a.m. MT.

Police believe the southbound pickup truck crossed the centre line and struck the side of the transport truck.

The driver of the pickup truck, from Newbrook, Alta., was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision but they have not yet ruled out a medical incident. They are still looking for the cause of the collision. 

Traffic on Highway 831 near Township Road 612 is being diverted while police clear the scene. The delay is expected to last until approximately 2 p.m.
