Man killed at quarry north of Fort McMurray
A 32-year-old man died on Thursday after he was caught in a conveyor belt and crushed at a quarry north of Fort McMurray.
Lisa Glover with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety said that investigators arrived late last night at the quarry which is operated by Calgary-based Hammerstone Corporation.
"The site has been secured for investigation and a stop work order has been issued for all work around or involving conveyors," she said.
This is the second death this year at the quarry. A man was killed in April after he was hit by a chain while doing maintenance on gravel-sorting equipment.
