Man in hospital following "very serious" assault

Homicide detectives advised after man found in front of health centre downtown, wounds considered life-threatening.

 A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following what police describe as a "very serious" assault in downtown Edmonton Sunday morning.

"He’s still with us for sure, the injuries look bad at this point," said police Staff Sergeant Sid Kingma.

Police say the man was found in front of the Boyle McCauley Health Centre on 96 street and 106a Ave. They don't believe a weapon was used in the attack (Google Map)

"Whether he recovers from it or not, it may take us a few days to be sure."

Kingma says he it doesn’t appear a weapon was used in the assault, but police are still investigating.

Homicide detectives have been advised of the case.

Nobody has been arrested.
