An autopsy confirmed that a suspicious death at a west Edmonton motel on the weekend was homicide, say police.

Officers found the body of a man in a room at the Aladdin Motel at 111th Avenue and 154th Street Sunday morning.

Police are asking for guests of the motel who had already checked out of their rooms to come forward if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man or how he died.

The homicide is the city's 22nd this year.
