Charges have been laid against a 30-year-old man accused of shooting a Red Deer gas station attendant in the face on Wednesday night.
Police say the suspect demanded money and then shot the clerk with a sawed-off shotgun.
The attendant, who was hit in the hand and face, was flown to a Calgary hospital in critical condition where he underwent multiple surgeries.
The alleged shooter has been charged with attempted murder, robbery with a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm and possession of a stolen prohibited firearm.
The suspect is now in police custody and will appear in court Monday.
