Londonderry Mall evacuated after bank robbery

A suspicious package left behind by a bank robber led police and mall security to evacuate employees and shoppers from Londonderry Mall in north Edmonton Thursday night.

A suspicious package left behind by a bank robber led police and mall security to evacuate employees and shoppers from Londonderry Mall in north Edmonton Thursday night. 

At around 6 p.m. the Bank of Montreal notified mall security a robbery had just occurred. The suspect fled, but left behind a suspicious package.

Police and security quickly evacuated everybody from the mall. 

Edmonton police explosive experts were preparing to enter the bank just before 9:30 p.m. 

Police have not made an arrest and have no suspect at this time.

It's not known if the robber made off with any money.
