Leduc man arrested after threatening to blow up home
Police seize jerry can and propane tank following arrest
Leduc RCMP seized a jerry can and a propane tank at Leduc home Saturday afternoon after a man threatened to blow up his house.
RCMP were called to the Caledonia residence at about 12:40 after a man threatened to set off an explosion inside, said Staff Sgt. Jeremie Landry.
Police negotiated with the 39-year-old man who owned the home and was the sole resident.
After 10 minutes the man surrendered to police and was arrested. Charges are pending, Landry said.
Police had advised neighbours to take shelter during the standoff.
Police say they are familiar with the man.
No one hurt during the incident.
