Failed Edmonton mayoral candidate Karen Leibovici far outspent her competitors in the 2013 Edmonton civic election, reveal documents released by the city today.
Leibovici raised almost $650,000, but still finished the campaign just over $140,000 in the red.
Winning candidate Don Iveson managed to raise $610,000 and finished with $42,000 of that still in the bank.
Third-place finisher Kerry Diotte raised nearly $180,000, spending all but $59.
Two other mayoral candidates reported their campaigns were self-funded.
Iveson won the race garnering 132,000 votes, while Leibovici finished with 41,000 and Diotte just under 33,000.
