A jury has convicted a man on second-degree murder charges for killing three people in an Edmonton after-hours club shooting in 2006.

Dwayne Anthony Nelson, 24, was also convicted Saturday of aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm.

Thomas Tipo Orak, 19, Jacey Pinnock, 27, and Dave Persaud, 21, died in the shootings. Orak and Pinnock were from Edmonton, Persaud from Toronto.

Two other people were shot and wounded in the incident Oct. 29, 2006, at the Red Light Lounge in downtown Edmonton.

The jury began its deliberations Thursday.

The jury heard that a fight broke out between two groups at the club after a woman spilled a drink on a man and he confronted her about it.

A date for sentencing will be set Nov. 21.
