Students at the University of Alberta have introduced an iPhone application to help fellow students navigate around campus.
The free download available from Apple's iTunes or the App Store and accessible on iPads and iPods allows students to keep of track of their assignments and timetables, stay in the know with the latest campus news and map the Edmonton campus.
Three third-year computer science students, Sahir Memon, Joel Kravets and Clinton Pahl, developed the application over the summer with the school's Academic Information and Communication Technologies team.
So far, 5,000 people are using the application.
"Using an iPod or iPhone or even an iPad, I can find out where the classes are right away," Memon said. "It just saves you some time and just keeps you more organized."
Memon said they are looking for feedback and suggestions on how to improve the application.
