A man who was found dead early Monday on McDougall Hill died of a single stab wound, police said Wednesday.

The man, 25, was found by a passerby at about 2 a.m. on a landing half way down the wooden stairs leading into the river valley next to the Hotel Macdonald.

Police are still trying to determine where the man was in the last 20 hours of his life. He had been living in an inner-city shelter and was last seen there on Sunday.

Police are still looking for a suspect, who they describe as an aboriginal male, between the ages of 14 and 20, with a slim build, a thin moustache and short dark hair.
