The owner of an Edmontonhomeravaged by two explosionsand afire said he doesn't know how the deadly blaze started.
Paul Adamstold CBC News thathe had lived withthe man whose body was found in thehouse near 114 Avenue and St. Albert Trail.
"He was more or less a roommate for almost a year prior to this, and we were pretty good friends and always chatted and had the odd barbecue together. And it was quite a shock when he came out on the gurney."
Fire investigators are trying to determine the source of the explosions, which happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday.
One of the tenants in the main-floor suite was home at the time, but managed to escape unharmed. Firefighters discovered the deadman in his rented basement suite.
