Homeless man complains after police clean-up at shelter
Centre staff say this is not the first time they have faced pressure to clean up area
A homeless man claims police were heavy-handed during a recent clean-up outside of Edmonton’s Bissell Centre shelter.
Terry Smith says police took some of his belongings after giving him short notice to clear out.
As CBC’s Silvana Benolich found out, staff at the centre say they regularly face pressure from the police and nearby residents about shopping carts full of belongings that are parked outside the building.
