A 28-year-old Hobbema, Alta. man is in critical condition after he was shot several times in a drive-by shooting.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, several rounds from a high-powered rifle were fired into a home on the Samson Reserve in Hobbema.

Police believe the shots were fired from a boxy, older style, dark colored sedan.

Several bullets hit a man standing in the living room, RCMP said. He was taken to an Edmonton hospital by air ambulance and is in critical but stable condition.

Several other people who were inside the home at the time, including a three-year-old child, were not hurt.

The Hobbema RCMP detachment is looking for help from the community to identify the suspects.

Police said the shooting may be gang related.
