Officers were called early on the morning of May 10, 2013 after a woman was found dead inside a car parked in front of the Hinton Healthcare Centre.

A second woman was admitted to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers from the RCMP's Edmonton-based Major Crimes Unit were called in to investigate.

On Wednesday, the second woman was formally charged with aiding suicide contrary to Section 241(b) of the Criminal Code, and remanded into custody.

If found guilty, the accused woman could face a maximum sentence of 14 years.

The RCMP requested and were granted a publication ban on the identities of the two women.
