Highway 35 drive-by shooting targeted car occupant
A woman known to be in local drug trade was injured after a shooting near Warrensville
A drive-by shooting on Highway 35 near Warrensville has injured one woman, RCMP say.
The woman, who was a passenger in one of the involved vehicles, was shot by the occupant of a second car, which was driving erratically northbound along Highway 35 between the Highway 2 and Highway 986 junctions.
The shooting occurred on Wednesday night around 9:45 p.m.
The shooting victim is known by police to be actively involved in the local drug trade. She sustained non-life threatening injuries in what the police are calling a “targeted shooting.”
The RCMP Investigation is ongoing as police continue to pursue leads.
Sgt. Jesse Onaissi released a statement asking the public to contact the Peace River RCMP or call the Crime Stoppers phone line if they know anything.
