One of Edmonton's best known bookstores is going out of business.
The final day of business for Greenwoods' Bookshoppe, a fixture on Whyte Avenue for many years, will be this Saturday.
In a statement posted on the independent store's website, Gail Greenwood said the decision was precipitated by the recent death of her brother and business partner, Brad Greenwood.
"He skillfully managed all store affairs and guided me on so many occasions," she said. "He was my rock." Greenwood also thanked her customers.
"Thank you for 33 years of wonderful support," she said. "It was a great ride and I will cherish it always."
The family run book store was opened in 1979.
