Grande Prairie RCMP investigate possible abduction

Police say they are investigating after a report that a female was seen screaming for help as she was apparently forced into a truck early Saturday morning.

Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating a possible abduction after witnesses reported a female being forced into a vehicle early Saturday morning.

Police say they received a report that the female was heard screaming for help shortly before 4:30 a.m. near 91 Street and 96 Avenue in Grande Prairie.

It appeared that she was being forced into a black Dodge pick-up.

At the scene, RCMP found a running shoe with blue laces that they think may have been involved.

While they haven’t found any suspects or identified a victim, RCMP say they are treating it as a serious investigation.

Anyone with information about what happened or who knows of a friend or family member who may be missing is asked to call RCMP.
