Fringe Festival preview: breaking down what's going on

The 33rd annual Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival kicked off on Thursday night.

The festival will feature 211 shows this year

Performers paraded through Old Strathcona Thursday to mark the beginning of the 11-day festival. More than 1,200 artists from around the world are in Edmonton to entertain.

The 33rd annual Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival — going with a 70s theme this year called "Fringed and Confused" — kicked off on Thursday night. 

There are 211 shows taking place in 53 venues over 11 days, so it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the choices.
