The province is on the verge of a flu outbreak, says Alberta's Medical Officer of Health.
Ten cases have been reported this week alone, said Gerry Predy. Only 29 cases have been reported since September.
Reported cases are just the tip of the iceberg, he said.
"We're heading into the holiday season," he said. "The fact that we have the virus circulating means that our influenza season could be in full force in the next couple of weeks."
There's been one reported case of H1N1.
The Edmonton area person was not hospitalized.
