A rural Alberta hotel has been destroyed by a massive fire.
Hansen's Hotel, in the northeastern community of St. Paul, was gutted Saturday night.
Flames spread rapidly through the wood-frame building on the town's main street, but firefighters were able to save other buildings in the area.
The fire started at the back of the 85-year-old building, which also has a restaurant and a nightclub, but investigators have not yet been able to determine the cause.
The flames were so intense that additional fire crews were called in from two neighbouring communities.
Crews remained on the scene through the night and were still dousing hot spots Sunday morning as the owner assessed the damage.
